BIO's

Rebecca A. Fannin
- International Business Journalist

Rebecca A. Fannin is the author of the well-received book, Silicon Dragon‒
How China is Winning the Tech Race (McGraw-Hill, 2008).   
Ms. Fannin has 16 years experience covering global trends in business,
innovation and entrepreneurship. She is the international editor of the Hong
Kong-based Asian Venture Capital Journal and Private Equity Asia. Previously,
Rebecca was international news editor at Red Herring, editor of the Pulitzer-
owned International Business, deputy editor at Ad Age, and an editor at Chief
Executive.
Her work also has appeared regularly in Inc., Fast Company, The Deal, Worth,
Wired, Asia Inc., and Time Inc.’s AsiaWeek.  Rebecca is a graduate of the Ohio
University Scripps School of Journalism and the recipient of an Asian studies
fellowship from the Freedom Forum. Ms. Fannin started her career as a copy
editor at the Dayton Journal Herald, as a Dow Jones intern.  
As a business magazine editor, she has received numerous awards from
professional journalism associations. Rebecca is a member of the Overseas
Press Club and the Foreign Correspondents Club in Hong Kong and Tokyo.  
On the speaker’s circuit, Ms. Fannin has been a lecturer, presenter and
moderator at business events in Asia, Europe and the U.S.   
Ms. Fannin grew up in southeastern Ohio, where her father was a professor of
history at Ohio University and her mother a kindergarten teacher.  Today, she
resides in New York City and San Francisco, and regularly travels to Asia on
journalistic assignments.

Fred Greguras, J.D. Of Counsel, Fenwick & West, LLP

Fred M. Greguras is of counsel in the Corporate, Technology Transactions and
China Practice Groups at Fenwick & West LLP, a law firm specializing in high
technology matters. He practices out of the firm’s
Mountain View, California, office. Mr. Greguras focuses on strategic legal
issues for software, semiconductor-related and life sciences companies. His
practice includes start-up issues and financings in both domestic and
international transactions. He has represented a wide range of
companies in financing, M&A, licensing and other commercial transactions,
from privately held start-ups to publicly traded companies. Mr. Greguras has
also been a venture capitalist and a general counsel andCFO for a startup.
Some of the clients he has represented are: BioMarker Pharmaceuticals, Inc.,
Excite@Home, Exodus Communications, Inc., Kintana, Inc., PayEase Corp.,
Speedera Networks, Inc. Mr. Greguras has authored many articles on China
business and legal issues, start-up, financing, outsourcing, Internet and
international legal issues, which are available at www.fenwick.com. He
received a BA in mathematics from University of Omaha in 1966, a MS in
mathematics and computer science in 1968, and his J.D. in 1975 from the
University of Nebraska. Mr. Greguras is a member of the State Bar of California.
